Plagiarism Policy

The International Journal of Leadership and Innovative Management (IJLIM) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical conduct in scholarly publishing. Plagiarism, in any form, constitutes a serious violation of ethical standards and undermines the credibility and trustworthiness of academic research. Therefore, IJLIM has adopted a strict plagiarism policy to ensure the originality and integrity of all submitted manuscripts.

Definition of Plagiarism:

Plagiarism is defined as the act of using someone else's words, ideas, or work without proper attribution or acknowledgment, thereby presenting them as one's own. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  1. Direct copying of text, verbatim, from another source without quotation marks and proper citation.
  2. Paraphrasing or summarizing another author's work without proper acknowledgment.
  3. Self-plagiarism, which involves reusing one's own previously published work without appropriate citation or indication of prior publication.
  4. Using images, figures, tables, or other graphical elements without obtaining permission or providing proper attribution.

Policy Guidelines:

  1. Originality of Content: Authors submitting manuscripts to IJLIM must ensure that their work is original and has not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts must not contain any plagiarized content, including text, ideas, or data, taken from other sources without proper attribution.

  2. Proper Citation and Attribution: Authors should accurately cite and reference all sources used in their research, including text, ideas, data, and graphical elements. This includes both direct quotations and paraphrased material. Failure to provide proper attribution may be considered plagiarism.

  3. Plagiarism Detection: All submitted manuscripts undergo a thorough plagiarism screening process using plagiarism detection software. Any instances of plagiarism or academic misconduct will be identified and addressed by the editorial team.

  4. Consequences of Plagiarism: Manuscripts found to contain plagiarized content will be rejected outright or withdrawn from consideration for publication. Authors who engage in plagiarism may face sanctions, including but not limited to, being banned from submitting to IJLIM in the future and notification of their institution or employer.

  5. Appeals Process: Authors who believe their work has been wrongly accused of plagiarism may appeal the decision by providing evidence to support the originality of their manuscript. Appeals will be reviewed by the editorial team, and decisions will be made based on the available evidence.

Prevention and Education:

IJLIM is committed to educating authors, reviewers, and editors about the importance of academic integrity and ethical publishing practices. Authors are encouraged to familiarize themselves with proper citation techniques and guidelines for avoiding plagiarism. Resources and guidance on plagiarism prevention are available on the journal's website.
