Analysing Basic Concepts in Administration of Criminal Justice in Nigeria

Abstract

This paper analysed certain concepts of criminal justice administration in Nigeria to introduce the ingredients required for a appreciating the criminal justice regime in Nigeria. The society is mapped out with designs to accommodate a basic apparatus of a justice system and its administration that is meant to promote an efficient social security and justice delivery system. The Nigeria administration of criminal justice system is a network which comprise of the Police Force, the Chief Law Officer/ Attorney-General and Minister/ Commissioner for Justice including Prosecuting Law Officers, Judiciary and the Correctional Security Service. All these agents work hand in hand to address crime. The paper adopted a doctrinal method to sourcing data on administration of criminal justice in Nigeria. It finds that there is need for collaboration among agencies charged with administration of justice for effective justice in the country. The paper concluded that justice administration is pivotal to organized society.
