Abstract

This article examines the role of social institutions in the development of a high level of consumption culture. Consumption culture is characterized as a socio-economic phenomenon associated with informed choice, economic and legal literacy, thrift, and responsible purchasing behavior. The study is conducted using a systemic and institutional approach and identifies the mechanisms through which the state, educational institutions, the family, mass media, and civil society institutions influence consumer behavior. The conclusion substantiates that consumption culture constitutes a stable environment formed through the cooperation and coordinated interaction of social institutions.
