Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and Flipkart has transformed consumer shopping behavior, making online shopping a dominant mode of purchase. This study explores the role of emotions in determining online shopping satisfaction among consumers. Emotions such as pleasure, excitement, trust, frustration, and anxiety significantly influence how consumers perceive their online shopping experience and their overall satisfaction levels.

The research is based on both primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through structured questionnaires targeting online shoppers, while secondary data was gathered from journals, research papers, and industry reports. The study examines how website design, ease of use, product presentation, payment security, and delivery services trigger emotional responses that ultimately affect satisfaction and repurchase intentions.

The findings reveal that positive emotions like enjoyment and trust enhance customer satisfaction and increase the likelihood of repeat purchases, whereas negative emotions such as frustration and anxiety reduce satisfaction and discourage future engagement. The study also highlights that emotional engagement plays a mediating role between online shopping experience and customer loyalty.

The research concludes that e-commerce companies must focus not only on functional aspects but also on creating positive emotional experiences to improve customer satisfaction. Enhancing user-friendly interfaces, ensuring secure transactions, and providing reliable delivery services can help foster positive emotions and long-term customer relationships.
