The rapid digitization of commercial transactions and the emergence of blockchain technology have fundamentally transformed the landscape of contractual agreements. This study examines the evolution of digital contracts and smart legal frameworks within the Indian context, analyzing their potential to revolutionize online agreements. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature, legal frameworks, and emerging technologies, this research identifies key challenges and opportunities in implementing smart contracts and digital legal frameworks in India. The study employs a mixed-method approach, incorporating quantitative analysis of adoption rates and qualitative assessment of regulatory responses. Findings indicate that while digital contracts offer significant advantages in terms of efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness, substantial regulatory and technological barriers remain. The research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on digital transformation in legal systems and provides recommendations for policymakers and industry stakeholders. The implications extend beyond contractual law to encompass broader questions of digital governance, cybersecurity, and economic development in emerging economies.
