The notion of human development in a developing nation such as Nigeria has persistently presented significant obstacles from 1960 to the present. The pursuit of procedural rationality as a foundation for planning and executing governmental functions has been constantly expressed in relation to the advancement of public administration within a democratic framework. This research analyzes the degree to which the Nigerian civil service has facilitated sustainable human development throughout time. This involves concentrating on the theoretical analysis of sustainable human development alongside the issues of government and bureaucracy. This paper employs documentary examination of pertinent records as its methodological approach. The report emphasizes the necessity for bureaucracy to effectively promote sustainable human development.
